D’Angelico Premier Atlantic Electric Guitar, Sky Blue, Stopbar Tailpiece, DAPATLSBMCS
Stylish Single Cut with Coil-tappable Duncan Designed Humbuckers
Coil-tappable humbuckers and exaggerated mid-century curves give the D’Angelico Premier Atlantic electric guitar a leg up on the timeless single cut. Whether your session calls for glassy PAF cleans or greasy single-coil leads, the Premier Atlantic delivers in a big way. Its belly-cut basswood body serves up rich, dark resonance and a blooming sustain, complemented by the snap of its set maple “C” neck and the response of its 14-inch-radius ovangkol fingerboard. The neck heel on this guitar is unlike any other we’ve seen, supplying limitless access to the upper reaches of the fretboard. And thanks to its timeless D’Angelico appointments — including an F-hole-style 5-ply pickguard, Rotomatic Stairstep machine heads, and an Aluminum Skyscraper truss rod cover — the Premier Atlantic gives you the presence you need when it’s your time to step out and shine.
Basswood meets maple in this revised single cut
A compelling take on the classic single cut design gives the Premier Atlantic a commanding stage presence and a familiar feel in the hands. Its comfortably contoured basswood body growls to life with very little coaxing, yielding a warm woodiness with prominent mids to cut through a busy musical arrangement. The Premier Atlantic’s set-through maple neck not only lends incredible sustain to your playing, it also adds a bit of snap to your tone. The neck is capped with an easy-playing 14-inch-radius ebony fretboard for premium tone and playability.
Seymour Duncan Designed pickups deliver classic humbucking tones
The D’Angelico Premier Atlantic comes loaded with a set of versatile coil-tappable Seymour Duncan Designed humbuckers to equip you for jazz, blues, rock, and beyond. The HB-101 bridge pickup boasts an Alnico V magnet and winding specs based on a late-1950s PAF. This vintage-inspired pickup is a great all-’rounder. It handles jazz-tinged cleans to high-gain distortion, and all shades in between. The HB-102 neck pickup also employs an Alnico V magnet, but is a tad overwound for hot-rodded humbucker tones. A 3-way toggle allows for easy pickup switching, and each pickup features its own push-pull coil-tap knob for accessing a broad palette of single-coil and blended tones in seconds.
The D’Angelico legacy
After mastering his craft during an 18-year apprenticeship, luthier John D’Angelico opened his shop in Manhattan’s Little Italy in 1932. Catering to New York’s many jazz musicians over the ensuing three decades, D’Angelico and a single apprentice became New York’s foremost stringed instrument builders, creating over 1,000 treasured archtop guitars until John’s death in 1964. Following his passing, D’Angelico’s legacy lived on only through his rare, legendary instruments. After decades, the D’Angelico brand has resurfaced, bringing back the playability and attention to detail of the company’s New York roots. Today, we are delighted to offer this fine line of distinguished instruments. D’Angelico uses state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and the finest available materials to create playable works of art for today’s guitarist. From a modest shop in Little Italy to the world stage, D’Angelico’s dedication to quality craftsmanship ensures that this brand won’t be going dormant again any time soon.
