Beautifully Designed 6-string Acoustic from D’Angelico
The Premier Gramercy from D’Angelico highlights intelligent design and a focus on making your playing experience more comfortable while enhancing the tone of this awesome acoustic. This beautiful guitar features an all-mahogany body for a beautifully rich tone that cuts across the high, mid, and low ranges in a balanced presentation. A gorgeous mahogany neck with torrefied merbau fingerboard offers wonderful playability and response, and when you’re ready to plug in, a D’Angelico MG-30 Preamp and Tuner kick out rich, amplified acoustic tone.
A neck made to play!
The mahogany neck on the Gramercy has been cut to a player-friendly slim C-shape. The C-shape profile is the most popular profile for guitar necks the world over, and for good reason. Its contours are beautifully matched to the natural curvature of your hand, making chording and lead playing easier. In addition, this smooth neck also features 20 medium jumbo frets along the merbau fingerboard that add to the comfort and ease of forming chords and laying down lead lines. And with the deep, smooth cutaway, you get easy access to those higher notes and creative voicings. C-profile necks are a favorite among guitarists.
A legacy of excellence
Manhattan’s Little Italy, 1932. John D’Angelico opens a shop at 40 Kenmare Street offering handcrafted acoustics for New York’s jazz players. Over the next three decades, D’Angelico and a single apprentice became New York’s foremost builders and created over one thousand treasured archtop guitars until John D’Angelico’s death in 1964. After his passing, D’Angelico’s legacy lived on only through his rare, legendary instruments. After decades, the D’Angelico brand has resurfaced, bringing back the playability and attention to detail of their New York roots. Today, D’Angelico uses state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and the best materials available to create playable works of art for today’s guitarist. From a one-off shop in Little Italy to the world stage, D’Angelico’s dedication to quality craftsmanship ensures that this brand won’t be going dormant any time soon.
