Slimmer Body Acoustic-electric from Ibanez Reimagined

Reimagining their popular AEG line, Ibanez is pleased to offer the improved AEG220. Featuring the same slimmer body depth design of past AEG offerings, the AEG220 is an ideal performance acoustic. A solid okoume top with okoume back and sides provide for rich, full tone. With this updated model, Ibanez has also added a nyatoh neck, cut to a comfort grip profile, along with an ovangkol fingerboard with rounded edges for improved playability all around. In addition, the AEG220 comes with a scalloped ovangkol bridge that makes it lighter in weight and improves the overall vibration when you play. When you are ready to plug in, an Ibanez T-Bar II undersaddle and AEQ-TTS preamp kick out beautifully articulate amplified tone. Finally, for players who like to traverse the neck, the AEG220 features a smooth, deep cutaway for easy access to those higher notes.

The placement of the Ibanez T-Bar II undersaddle pickup captures palm hits and bass drum-like tones — ideal for experimental, expressive styles of play. In addition, the AEQ-TTS preamp lets you tweak your amplified sound to suit various styles. And with its onboard tuner, you can stay in tune while you perform.

The shallow body design of the AEG220 is not only comfortable to play, but guitarists have also found it keeps feedback at bay when plugged in. The undersized body eliminates the boominess you get from larger-bodied acoustics, making it ideal for live performance as well as recording. And its undersized design means it’s lighter, making the AEG220 a perfect “campfire” guitar that travels easily.
