Before the pickups get involved, the tone starts with your bass’ tonewoods. For the SR400EPBDX, Ibanez chose a nyatoh body. Nyatoh, sometimes called nato, has gained a reputation for its warm, mid-forward character that’s oh-so-similar to mahogany. The body comes bolted to a 5-piece maple and walnut neck that adds an extra helping of top-end shimmer. Together, the body and neck deliver truckloads of resonance and sustain that any bass player can appreciate.

PowerSpan pickups and flexible onboard EQ

Ibanez’s proprietary PowerSpan Dual Coil pickups take the classic humbucker design to a new level of performance. These pickups offer a rich tone with smooth top-end harmonics and powerful lows.
