This acoustic-electric starts with an all-sapele body for consistent and balanced tone. Martin connected the hardwood neck to the body with a mortise and tenon neck joint, allowing for abundant resonance. Then, they capped the neck with a Richlite fingerboard for comfort when fretting and long-lasting durability. Then, X-bracing adds more projection and resonance plus stability to the sapele top. And when you’re out gigging, plug in through the jack to access the natural-sounding Fishman Sonitone pickup!
This fingerboard’s story
As ebony tree populations in the wild diminish, guitar manufacturers like Martin are turning to sustainable alternatives. The Richlite fingerboard on the 000CJR-10E is one of those! This stable wood won’t shrink or crack apart from the neck and feels sublimely smooth, much like ebony. Guitarists say it has similar, if not superior, tonal properties to ebony. This Richlite fingerboard features 20 frets down its 24-inch scale, plus a comfortable 16-inch radius that’ll keep you playing your favorite tunes all day long. Martin also designed the 000CJR-10E with a cutaway so you can access the most of the Richlite fingerboard as possible. Martin makes it easy to get fabulous tone from the 000CJR-10E StreetMaster with the Fishman Sonitone pickup. With the Sonitone, you can plug in at gigs or your recording interface to achieve a dynamic and natural sound. The Sonitone features a pickup mounted at the bridge, with controls for discreet and easy access underneath the soundhole. So plug in and go — listeners will love this guitar.
