Tonewood pairing delivers rich tonal complexity

Throughout history, Martin guitars have used spruce tops and mahogany backs and sides to create enchanting tone — you’ll find the same premium tonewood combination on the Martin DSS-17. The mahogany ensures you’ll experience a clear, organic sound when playing this guitar, while the spruce enhances the exquisite sound with warmth and beautiful overtones.

The rich tone and loud volume of the DSS-17 come partly from its ever-popular dreadnought body style. This body style provides excellent projection and focus, perfect for pairing with a banjo other instruments in an ensemble. The dreadnought body style also gives you well-balanced tone, making the DSS-17 an excellent choice for recording in the studio.
